It should fit most doors and replace a deadbolt lock, but it will not fit mortise or lever handle locks.

After removing the old lock, install the deadbolt mechanism within the door and attach the lock’s exterior portion. The backing plate is then screwed to the inside of the door using a pair of large screws. Next, a cable joins the internal and exterior sections of the lock, and the inner part is attached to the supporting plate with a few additional screws.
